Patrick Lin is Senior Vice President and General Manager of Observability for Splunk. His team is responsible for integrating Splunk and Cisco solutions to provide end-to-end observability across infrastructure, applications and user experiences, delivering digital resilience for customers.
Patrick joined Splunk through the acquisition of SignalFx in 2019, where he was the Chief Product Officer and helped scale a category-defining platform for real-time monitoring and observability in the cloud.
Through the course of his work in observability, Patrick has seen the shift from reactive monitoring to proactive strategy dramatically increasing the importance of observability as a tool for business leaders to safeguard revenue, protect brand reputation, and deliver seamless, differentiated experiences.
Earlier in his career, Patrick held several leadership roles in product management. Most notably, he served as VP Product Management at VMware, where he was responsible for vSphere, the virtual infrastructure platform for datacenters and clouds. He started his career in consulting with Bain & Company.
Patrick holds an MBA from INSEAD, and three degrees from Stanford University, including both an M.S. and B.S. in Electrical Engineering, and B.A. East Asian Studies.
